AppMySite Alternative: No-Code Convenience vs. an App Project and Keys You Own

AppMySite is a no-code builder with strong WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify integrations, cloud builds and iOS uploads without a Mac on its Premium plan. The trade-off is platform dependence: no source code, a keystore AppMySite says cannot be shared and an app that drops to a branded Preview plan when payment stops. An AppMySite alternative such as WebViewGold gives you native projects and signing keys you control. Here is how they compare – and when AppMySite stays the better fit.

Recommended solution: WebViewGold – native iOS and Android apps from your web app, made by our team.

Key takeaways

  • AppMySite is strongest for WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify owners who want a no-code app, and its Premium plan uploads iOS apps without a Mac.
  • You get no source code, and AppMySite says the keystore cannot be shared – the app's native side stays tied to the platform.
  • If payment stops, the app moves to the Preview plan, shows AppMySite branding and loses full functionality until you pay again.
  • WebViewGold, made by our team, is a one-time purchase: Xcode and Android Studio projects you own, signed with keys you create.
  • Leaving keeps your store listings when the accounts are yours – keep AppMySite active until the replacement update is live.

Looking for an AppMySite alternative? Meet WebViewGold

WebViewGold turns your website or web app into native iOS and Android projects for a one-time price – with push notifications, a native offline screen, deep links, a QR scanner, in-app purchases and more. You own the projects and publish in your own developer accounts. Built by our own team.

AppMySite alternative: the decision in a nutshell

The right AppMySite alternative depends on what you value more: convenience or ownership. AppMySite lets you build and update apps without touching code, but the app's native side stays on its platform. If you want your own native projects, your own signing keys and no running subscription, a template such as WebViewGold matches better; if you want no-code CMS integration, AppMySite is hard to replace.

AppMySite, Inc. lists a business address in Middletown, Delaware, with a copyright line running from 2018 to 2026. It offers builders for website-to-app, WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom apps, plus a white-label builder for agencies, and AI-assisted building is now prominent on its site. Apps come out of its cloud as APK, AAB and IPA files, and installable PWAs are offered too.

What platform dependence means at AppMySite

AppMySite is transparent about its model. Three statements from its documentation, as of October 2026, define the relationship:

  • Source code. "We do not provide access to the source code of the apps created on AppMySite's platform." It isn't part of any plan and isn't for sale.
  • Keystore. The keystore file "is part of the app's source code and cannot be shared". On Android, the signing key decides who can ship updates to your listing.
  • Payment. If a subscription stops, "Your app will move to the Preview plan" and "will automatically start displaying AppMySite branding". The app stays in the stores but loses full functionality; once you pay again, it recovers without a re-upload.

The web-to-app plans run from Free (one Android app, capped downloads) and Starter (Android only) to Pro and Premium, which add iPhone. You pay monthly, yearly or once through a Lifetime option. A one-time Lifetime payment avoids recurring charges – but not the source code and keystore questions.

Where AppMySite's WordPress and WooCommerce builders shine

For a WooCommerce shop or a WordPress publisher without a developer, AppMySite's dedicated builders are its real strength – you configure the app around your store or content without code. Its feature list leans toward commerce and engagement: unlimited push notifications with deep links, in-app chat, analytics, in-app purchases for digital products, AdMob, Google and Apple sign-in, offline mode and access to camera, microphone, contacts and location. Biometrics and QR scanning are not on that list, and availability varies by product and plan.

A WebView app built with WebViewGold takes the opposite route: it shows your real website, so every WooCommerce extension, checkout step and theme detail behaves as in the browser. That helps when your shop relies on plugins a no-code builder doesn't mirror – and means extra work if your theme isn't mobile-friendly yet. Physical products can keep your existing checkout under Apple's rules, while digital content generally needs In-App Purchase (see 3.1.1 for WebView apps).

App Store and Google Play risks for builder-made apps

AppMySite has its own help pages for two App Store rejections:

  • Guideline 4.2 Minimum Functionality. AppMySite advises hiding website headers and footers and adding native navigation and interactive features – what Apple asks of every wrapper. Our 4.2 guide goes deeper.
  • Guideline 4.3(a) design spam. AppMySite recommends changing the layout and publishing unique content, and notes that Apple usually gives no specific reason. Shared templates are a known trigger; Apple says its machine learning helps "analyze app similarity". Read 4.3 for WebView apps before submitting a second, similar app.
  • Guideline 4.2.6. AppMySite says App Store guidelines prevent it from submitting your app with its own developer account. Publishing from your account is the right model with any tool.
  • Google Play. Google wants the website in your app to be yours (or used with permission), rejects apps that merely repeat others and makes new personal accounts run a closed test with 12 testers for 14 days – see the Google Play WebView spam guide.

The AppMySite pages we checked promise no approval, and neither do we: Apple and Google decide.

Our recommended alternative

WebViewGold: native iOS and Android apps from your website

Instead of building native features from scratch, start from WebViewGold. You get ready-made Xcode and Android Studio projects for your website, with native modules you switch on in the configuration:

  • Push notificationsOneSignal or Firebase, for real, personal events
  • Native offline screenNo browser error pages when the connection drops
  • Native splash screenApp-like start instead of a loading web page
  • Deep linksLinks open the right screen inside the app
  • QR & barcode scannerDevice features the website alone can't offer
  • In-app purchasesNative purchase flows where the store requires them

No tool guarantees an approval: Apple still judges what your app offers. Use the native features in your main user journey – our App Specialists review your WebViewGold app before it goes to the App Store.

When staying with AppMySite makes sense

  • Your app is assembled from WooCommerce, WordPress or Shopify data and you want to manage it without code.
  • You need iOS without a Mac and without running builds – Premium uploads through an App Store Connect API key.
  • You chose Lifetime billing, so there is no recurring payment to lapse.
  • You rely on built-in features like in-app chat or native Google and Apple sign-in and are happy with them.
  • You never plan to touch native code.

When WebViewGold is the better AppMySite alternative

Disclosure first: WebViewGold is made by our own team. It suits you better than AppMySite when ownership matters:

  • Projects instead of a platform. Two native projects – one for Xcode in Swift, one for Android Studio – configured by entering your URL or a local HTML folder (on iOS in Config.swift) and switching modules on.
  • Your keys, your listing. You create the keystore and certificates yourself and publish in your own accounts.
  • One payment. You pay once and get updates at no extra cost; the Extended license adds in-app purchases via StoreKit and Google Play Billing.
  • Scanning and biometrics. QR and barcode scanning for product lookup and Face ID or Touch ID unlock – neither appears on AppMySite's feature list – plus NFC, a VisionKit document scanner, Picture-in-Picture video, a native share dialog, push via OneSignal, Firebase or Pushwoosh, AdMob and a native offline screen.
  • Help if you want it. The Cloud Builder, sold on its own, builds in the browser without Xcode; alternatively, our team sets the app up for you.

Leaving AppMySite without losing your store listing

  1. Keep paying until the replacement is live. Cancel first, and your live app shows AppMySite branding while the new version is still in review.
  2. Confirm account ownership. AppMySite works with your own App Store Connect and Play Console accounts. Make sure you are Account Holder at Apple and owner on Google Play.
  3. Check Android signing in Play Console. Since the keystore can't be shared, look at the app signing page. If Google holds the app signing key through Play App Signing, the account owner asks for an upload key reset and registers the key of your new project. If the app isn't enrolled, updates need the original key – talk to AppMySite before you cancel, or you'd have to start a new listing.
  4. Rebuild in WebViewGold with the same bundle ID and package name, a higher version number and your existing in-app product IDs.
  5. Re-check sign-in. Google's OAuth policy rules out its login inside a WebView. On iOS, add ASWebAuthenticationSession or Google's native Sign-In SDK to the Xcode project (yourself or as a quoted customization); on Android, use Custom Tabs or Credential Manager. Alternatively, offer email and password plus Sign in with Apple – which WebViewGold detects automatically – and keep Google login on the web. WebViewGold's googlelogin:// prefix can hand the login to the system browser, which satisfies Google, but Apple's account deletion guidance calls signing in via the default browser inappropriate under Guideline 4.
  6. Update privacy answers. Apple's privacy labels and Google's Data safety answers must describe the new build's SDKs.
  7. Submit as an update, then clean up. Once the new version is live, revoke the App Store Connect API key you created for AppMySite and end the subscription.

How appsubmitter.io helps – whether you switch or stay

appsubmitter.io covers everything between a finished build and a live app: CI/CD and code signing, upload keys and Play App Signing, AAB release builds, listing texts with screenshot guidance, Apple's App Privacy answers and Google's Data safety form, an AI-powered guideline check and the submission itself. When reviewers have questions, our App Specialists answer them – from your own developer accounts. If the app needs code changes, we quote them before any work starts.

Staying with AppMySite? We can still help with your listings, privacy forms and 4.2 or 4.3 rejections. Book appsubmitter.io for both stores or start with a free consultation call.

Checklist: choosing your website-to-app route

  • You know whether your AppMySite apps run on monthly, yearly or Lifetime billing.
  • The AppMySite features your users rely on, such as in-app chat or social sign-in, are listed.
  • Your apps live in your own App Store Connect and Play Console accounts.
  • You checked the app's Play App Signing status before cancelling anything.
  • The subscription stays active until the replacement update is live in both stores.
  • The new build keeps bundle ID, package name and in-app product IDs.
  • Google sign-in uses ASWebAuthenticationSession, Custom Tabs or a native SDK – never the WebView itself.
  • Your WooCommerce or WordPress theme works well on a phone inside a WebView.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AppMySite alternative for a WooCommerce store?
If your store's plugins and checkout should work exactly as on the web, WebViewGold (built by our team) shows your real site and adds push, scanning, Face ID and in-app purchases, with projects you own. If you prefer configuring a no-code app from your store data, AppMySite remains a strong option. Median.co and Natively are further managed alternatives.
Can I get the source code of my AppMySite app?
No. AppMySite's documentation says it does not provide access to the source code of apps created on its platform; the code remains AppMySite's property and isn't included in any plan or available for purchase. The keystore file counts as part of that source code and cannot be shared either.
What happens to my AppMySite app if I stop paying?
According to AppMySite, the app moves to the Preview plan and starts showing AppMySite branding. It remains in the stores but loses full functionality until you resume payment; then functionality returns and the branding disappears without a new upload. A Lifetime plan, paid once, avoids recurring payments in the first place.
Will I lose my reviews if I move from AppMySite to another tool?
No – as long as the replacement goes out as a new version of the same app, with the same bundle ID and package name in the same developer accounts. On Android, signing decides it: Play App Signing lets the account owner swap in a new upload key through a reset request, while apps outside it need the original key.
Do I need a Mac if I leave AppMySite?
AppMySite's Premium plan uploads iOS apps without a Mac. With WebViewGold, the Xcode project needs one – or you use the separately sold Cloud Builder, which builds and uploads in the browser, or our done-for-you setup. Or let a CI/CD pipeline from appsubmitter.io produce the iOS builds, so nobody on your team needs Xcode.
Does Apple allow WebView apps for online shops?
Yes, Apple has no rule against WebViews. Under Guideline 4.2, the app has to offer more than a repackaged website, so native features such as push for order updates, barcode scanning or Face ID sign-in belong in the shopping journey. Selling physical products through your own checkout is allowed; digital content generally needs In-App Purchase.
