WebsiteToApp.app Alternative: A Production iOS App, an Android Studio Project and In-App Purchases

WebsiteToApp.app turns a website into a signed Android app and a Windows desktop app, sold as one-time purchases per platform; its iOS option is still labeled beta as of October 2026. If you need a production-ready iOS app next to Android, an Android project you can edit or in-app purchases, a WebsiteToApp.app alternative such as WebViewGold may fit better. If a Windows .exe matters to you, WebsiteToApp.app keeps a clear advantage.

Recommended solution: WebViewGold – native iOS and Android apps from your web app, made by our team.

Key takeaways

  • WebsiteToApp.app is built around Android and Windows: a signed APK and AAB with a keystore download, and an unbranded Windows .exe installer.
  • Its iOS app is listed as beta as of October 2026 – an unsigned .ipa plus an Xcode project that you publish with your own Apple account.
  • In-app purchases are not listed on its feature pages, and no Android source project is included – both matter if you sell digital content or need native changes.
  • WebViewGold, made by our team, delivers Xcode and Android Studio projects with in-app purchases and many native modules for a one-time price – but no Windows build.
  • Because WebsiteToApp.app hands over the keystore, your Android app can move to another tool and keep its Google Play listing.

Our recommended solution

Looking for a WebsiteToApp.app alternative? Meet WebViewGold

WebViewGold turns your website or web app into native iOS and Android projects for a one-time price – with push notifications, a native offline screen, deep links, a QR scanner, in-app purchases and more. You own the projects and publish in your own developer accounts. Built by our own team.

WebsiteToApp.app alternative: who should switch?

Look for a WebsiteToApp.app alternative if you need a production iOS app alongside Android, want to modify the native Android code or need in-app purchases. If you mainly need an Android app – or a Windows desktop app – from your website, WebsiteToApp.app may already be the simpler choice.

The product promises to turn "any existing website into a native Android app, and any website into a Windows desktop application, without writing code". Builds run in the cloud. The contact page names Stark Enterprises as the operator, without a country or founding year. Besides the builder, it sells a Google Play publishing service and custom development.

The pricing model is simple: a free trial ("5 free builds total", a WebsiteToApp watermark, 15 days), then one-time purchases per platform with "no trial limit". Android Premium includes a monthly rebuild allowance; an optional Pro Monthly add-on raises it and adds a priority queue, "cancel anytime". One-time purchases can be refunded within seven days if the build hasn't been downloaded.

What WebsiteToApp.app delivers on each platform

PlatformWhat you receiveWhat it means for you
AndroidSigned APK and AAB, keystore downloadYou keep your Play identity, but no Android Studio project is listed on any plan, so native changes depend on the vendor
WindowsUnbranded .exe installer with system tray, auto-updater and kiosk modeA real plus if you need a desktop app – WebViewGold, for example, doesn't build for Windows
iOS (beta)Unsigned .ipa and a complete Xcode project; "you publish with your own Apple Developer account"Promising, but the vendor itself calls it beta, and the pricing page doesn't explain signing and upload

For Android, the feature pages list push notifications, AdMob banners and interstitials, pull to refresh, offline mode and caching, deep linking, back-button handling, biometric login, screenshot protection, SSL pinning, a QR scanner, camera, location, file upload, a download manager and a JavaScript bridge. In-app purchases are not listed on its feature pages, and no push provider is named.

The iOS question: a beta build or a mature Xcode project?

iOS is often the platform that matters most to website owners, and App Review judges wrapper apps by their native value. A beta label doesn't mean the iOS output can't work; it means the vendor doesn't call it finished yet. Before you plan a launch on it, check four things:

  • Native value. Guideline 4.2 expects "features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website". Ask which Android features exist in the iOS beta.
  • Payments. If the app unlocks digital content or subscriptions, Apple generally requires In-App Purchase; physical goods and services can keep your web checkout – see 3.1.1 for WebView apps.
  • Sign-in. Google's OAuth policy says a developer "must not direct a Google OAuth 2.0 authorization request to an embedded user-agent under the developer's control", so Google login can't run inside the WebView. On iOS, use ASWebAuthenticationSession or Google's native Sign-In SDK, or offer email and password plus Sign in with Apple in the app. Linking out to Safari is no real fix: Apple's account deletion guidance calls signing in through the default web browser a poor experience that "isn't appropriate, per App Review Guideline 4".
  • Signing and upload. An unsigned .ipa still has to be signed with your certificates and uploaded to App Store Connect. The pricing page doesn't say whether that needs a Mac.

WebViewGold's iOS side is a complete Xcode project in Swift, so native sign-in code such as ASWebAuthenticationSession has a place to live – add it yourself or have it quoted as a customization. Out of the box, it detects Sign in with Apple (appleid.apple.com) automatically and brings StoreKit in-app purchases, Face ID and Touch ID, universal links and a native rating dialog.

Rejection risks on Google Play and the App Store

WebsiteToApp.app's pages make no approval promises, and we found no product-specific rejection reports. The general rules for website wrappers apply to it, to WebViewGold and to every other tool:

  • Webviews and Affiliate Spam. Google doesn't allow apps whose primary purpose is to "provide a webview of a website without permission from the website owner or administrator". Publishing from the account of the business that owns the site makes this easy to show. The vendor's Google Play service doesn't say whose account it uses – ask before you book. Our WebView spam guide explains how to prove ownership.
  • Repetitive and limited apps. Several near-identical apps, or one that is "static without app-specific functionalities", can fail even when you own the site.
  • Testing and target API. New personal Play Console accounts need a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days (see the closed testing guide), and Google has required API level 36 for every new app and update since August 31, 2026. Make sure your rebuild allowance covers the yearly bump.
  • Apple 4.2, 4.2.6 and 4.3. A repackaged website fails 4.2; apps from app generation services must come from the content provider's own account, which the iOS beta's "publish with your own Apple Developer account" model respects; many look-alike apps invite 4.3. More in our 4.2.6 article.

Our recommended alternative

WebViewGold: native iOS and Android apps from your website

Instead of building native features from scratch, start from WebViewGold. You get ready-made Xcode and Android Studio projects for your website, with native modules you switch on in the configuration:

  • Push notificationsOneSignal or Firebase, for real, personal events
  • Native offline screenNo browser error pages when the connection drops
  • Native splash screenApp-like start instead of a loading web page
  • Deep linksLinks open the right screen inside the app
  • QR & barcode scannerDevice features the website alone can't offer
  • In-app purchasesNative purchase flows where the store requires them

No tool guarantees an approval: Apple still judges what your app offers. Use the native features in your main user journey – our App Specialists review your WebViewGold app before it goes to the App Store.

When WebsiteToApp.app is the better choice

  • You need a Windows desktop app. The unbranded .exe with system tray, auto-updater and kiosk mode has no counterpart in WebViewGold.
  • Android is your only mobile platform and the listed features – push, AdMob, biometric login, QR scanner, offline mode – cover your app.
  • You want to test before paying. The trial builds carry a watermark but show you the result.
  • You don't want a project at all. A signed AAB is ready to upload, and the keystore download still leaves your app identity with you.

When WebViewGold is the better WebsiteToApp.app alternative

WebViewGold comes from our own team – keep that in mind while reading. It fits better when:

  • iOS has to be production-ready now. The Swift-based Xcode project is ready to build: enter your URL or a local HTML folder in Config.swift and enable the native modules you need.
  • You sell digital goods. StoreKit on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android are built in (Extended license).
  • You want the Android source. The Android Studio project is yours, with modules for biometrics, NFC, a document scanner, Health Connect, App Links and an offline fallback with reconnect – and you can change anything in it.
  • You want iOS extras. Widget and Share Extensions, an App Clip, Siri integration and a native share dialog.
  • You have no Mac. WebViewGold's Cloud Builder (a separate purchase) handles configuration, building and uploading online, and a done-for-you service sets everything up if you prefer.

Like WebsiteToApp.app, WebViewGold is paid once, and its updates cost nothing extra – neither tool ties you to a subscription.

Switching from WebsiteToApp.app while keeping your Google Play listing

  1. Back up the keystore. Download it with its passwords and alias and store it outside the vendor's dashboard.
  2. Check which account holds the app. If you uploaded it, it's in your Play Console. If the vendor's publishing service did, find out which developer account was used; if it isn't yours, the current holder has to move the app to you through Google's app transfer process.
  3. Note package name and version code of the live release.
  4. Set up the WebViewGold Android Studio project with the same package name, your URL and a higher version code.
  5. Sign with the right key. Under Play App Signing, Google signs what users download, while you sign uploads with your upload key – usually the keystore you downloaded. Lost it? The owner of the Play Console account can file an upload key reset.
  6. Test, then roll out as an update via an internal testing track. Your ratings and existing users carry over; revise the Data safety form if the SDK list changed.
  7. Add iOS in your own App Store Connect account – or, if you already released the iOS beta build, keep its bundle ID and ship WebViewGold's build as an update.
  8. Keep the desktop app if you need it. WebsiteToApp.app for Windows and WebViewGold for mobile work fine side by side.

How appsubmitter.io helps – with either tool

appsubmitter.io handles what happens after the build: Play App Signing and upload keys, release builds, the store listing and screenshot guidance, App Privacy details and the Data safety form, the closed test for new accounts, the submission and the conversation with App Review and the Google Play review team – all from your own developer accounts. Code changes are outside the service, but we can quote them upfront.

Staying with WebsiteToApp.app? We can still prepare your listings and privacy forms and help with rejections. Book a package for both stores or ask us first in a free consultation call.

Checklist: choosing your website-to-app route

  • You know which platforms you need this year and next: Android, iOS, Windows.
  • The WebsiteToApp.app keystore, passwords and alias are backed up outside the vendor dashboard.
  • Your Google Play app lives in a developer account you own.
  • You know whether your app sells digital goods that need in-app purchases.
  • Your iOS plan covers native value, sign-in and how the build gets signed and uploaded.
  • New personal Play Console accounts have planned the 12-tester, 14-day closed test.
  • The Data safety form and App Privacy details match the SDKs in your build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best WebsiteToApp.app alternative for iOS and Android?
If you need both mobile platforms production-ready, WebViewGold (built by our team) gives you an Xcode project and an Android Studio project with in-app purchases and many native modules, for a one-time price. If you have a solid PWA and a Mac, PWABuilder is a free option. For Android plus Windows, WebsiteToApp.app itself remains a good fit.
Is WebsiteToApp.app's iOS version ready for the App Store?
WebsiteToApp.app lists its iOS app as beta on the pricing page as of October 2026. You receive an unsigned .ipa and a complete Xcode project and publish with your own Apple Developer account. Whether an app passes depends on its native value, sign-in and payments rather than the label – but plan extra testing time.
Do I keep my keystore if I leave WebsiteToApp.app?
Android Premium includes a keystore download, so yes – as long as you saved it. Store it with its passwords somewhere safe. If your app uses Play App Signing, the Play Console account owner can also request an upload key reset, so a lost upload key doesn't lock you out of your listing.
Can WebViewGold build a Windows desktop app?
No. WebViewGold produces iOS and Android projects only. For a Windows .exe, WebsiteToApp.app's Windows build is a reasonable choice, and PWABuilder can package a progressive web app for the Microsoft Store. Combining tools is perfectly fine: one for desktop, WebViewGold for phones and appsubmitter.io for the store submissions.
Does WebsiteToApp.app support in-app purchases?
In-app purchases are not listed on its feature pages as of October 2026, so ask the vendor before you rely on them. On iOS this matters: digital content and subscriptions generally require Apple's In-App Purchase under Guideline 3.1.1, while physical goods and real-world services can keep your web checkout.
Whose account does WebsiteToApp.app's Google Play service use?
The pricing page says the team publishes your existing build to Google Play on your behalf, with Android Premium required, but doesn't state whose developer account is used. Ask before booking. We recommend your own account: it keeps you in control of the listing and makes website ownership easy to show under Google's Webviews spam policy.
